What fuel pump to use
switching from mechanical to electric because my new block wont accept a mechanical. its 350 vortec sbc with lt4 hotcam, performer rpm intake, compression is like 9.8:1, and using a 650 demon carb. should be between 375 to 400 hp at about 5200 rpm. i was looking at the holley pumps and cant decide between the blue or the red. any input would be appreciated.

I use Mallory 140's (600HP) they are serviceable and inexpensive to rebuild. You could just run a 110 that is internally regulated to 6-7lbs

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.
400HP x .55 (BSFC)=220lbs/HR
Gas weighs ~6.2lbs/gal
220 / 6.2 = 35.5 gals/Hr
35.5GPH x 30% (safety factor) = 46.15 GPH
6-7PSI
Also fuel pumps are rated at free flow state. Flow and pressure are indirectly proportional. A 110GPH pump puts out about 90GPH @ 6PSI
