Default Steering Centerline/ Crank Centerline

Getting ready to install my steering (dual ram, single Bravo)and in the instructions it wants it to be mounted on the crank/driveshaft centerline. My question is, most people use the pivot or trim caps to center steering but drive centerline is exactly 1/2" lower than center of the caps. Should I go off of tru center or off center of the caps? Also is it a good idea to go a little higher than center since it is usually ran with positive trim? Thanks.

You can do it 2 ways the easiest way is take the center of the flat area along side the trim senders where it meets the transom (hard to be exact because of the rounded corners). The other would be to put a straight edge level across the top of the transom assembly and measure down 10 1/4 inches, 1/2 inch above center line would be the best place to mount your rams.

Thanks. Just getting around to installing the system I got from you. Would there be anyproblem putting it dead center or 1/4" above as 1/2" crashes into my trim tab mounts? Thanks
