Default Need a marine surveyor in Palmdale CA

All

I am looking to buy a boat in Palmdale, CA but I am in Texas. Before I make a trip out there or transfer any funds, I want to make sure the boat is solid.

I truly don't expect any issuesand would be tickled if the boat is exactly as the owner described but I don't want to gamble on an expediture of this magnitude.

So can someone recommend a qualified marine surveyor to check this boat out for me. It is from a private party and not a dealer.

Thanks
Stacy

Well the deal ended up falling through. The guy expected me to come out and "preview" the boat but not put it in the water. He said I could come back out (mind you I live in Texas and he knew that) and do a sea trial at a later date AFTER I left him a $5k deposit from my first visit.

Well that's a crock of BS - I am not spending that kind of money on a 2006 boat with the 525 EFI that has been sitting for 2 1/2 years and not drive it. Nor am I making 2 trips from Texas to Cali to do something which could be done in one.

So I think some poor sap is going to buy it from Phoenix and use it on Havasu. Good luck with that!
