Default Hatch actuator not working!!!! HELP!!!!!

Went out to check a few things and the hatch wouldn't open. I was able to pull it up to fit my arm in and un bolt it. Checked everything I could think of.......

Switch is new and working fine
12.7 Volts in both directions to the actuator
Wire connections are good

the actuator will spin in both directions when you hit the switch, but if you put a load on it, nothing but the noise it usually makes when it is all the way up or all the way down. Will not lift.

Take the load off and hit the switch and spins free again in both directions??????

Mine was doing the exact same thing last year. I simply disassembled it, cleaned all the corrosion that it had inside, and re-lubed the screw mechanism. It has worked perfectly ever since.

While you are at it, probably a good idea to install a relay to actuate the hatch motor. It will give you the highest possible voltage at the motor, and it will save your switch. Plus, it will operate much faster. They should come this way from the factory!
