Would you own a boat if it was cool and cloudy the majority of the summer?

I live in the Seattle Area...and have already been out boating over a dozen times locally on Lake Washington. I have also driven the 2.5 hours over to Vantage...where it has been mostly around 80 deg for the last month...for a Sunday boating adventure in some warmer weather. I have several friends who do the same...I will be there this Sunday...80 deg weather...you should make the trek...it is worth it!

We have had enough rain here to float a battleship.
The last 12 months we had 33 days that it rained straight. At least 5 times we have got more then 4 inches at one time (couple hours). One time we got 11 inches (according to my backyard gage) in about 6 hours.
Cold? I was having a problem trying to get fiberglass to set up a couple weeks ago. Then the sun came and sat on us for about 10 days and about melted the place (98+ degrees) and now we have settled into mid August weather.
My boat is in the middle of being rebuilt at the moment. I would take a ride in a snow storm if i could right now. Not that I've haven't done it before.

Imagine being married to a supermodel but she doesnt like sex! Thats the way it feels sometimes!! lol!
Again, this thread was about getting opinions from everyone on IF they would continue to be a boater in a cool, cloudy climate. I know most people on this board enjoy a nice, sunny (hot), summer. I was just curious on opinions.
Im not going to sell my boat but I will eventually move to a sunny climate. Wish I could now but Im a single dad and I wont pull my daughter from her school and move her...Once she's in college I AM OUTTA HERE!!!

Weve met each other. I bought the Hydromotiv prop quad 4 from you about a year ago...
If youve been out on Lake Washington 12 times you are a die hard boater!! Im one of those guys that boats to enjoy the sun and relax with friends....I want girls in bikini's, sunscreen, sunglasses and swimming! Boating in a sweatshirt in 62 degrees isnt my idea of a relaxing time...It just seems like Seattle is getting cooler and cooler each year and there gets to be a point where you dont ever get to use your toy!
Ive been to Vantage but not yet this year. Its not as easy as it sounds to get out of town for the weekend (especially as a single dad)...
I am going out on LW on Sunday so maybe Ill see you out there.

Hey PQ-baby,
Back to your original question, what boat?...I guess this is why I'm on my 2nd PQ now. I love go-fasts like Cigs, Apache, OL, Sonics...but none have windshields or enough protection from the elements. Both of my PQ's have complete 'camper' tops for when is foul out. Everything about a boat includes compromise so I have a little less speed but more functionality for my climate. I live in Edmonton but boat on the Shuswap lake...7 hour drive. I still too would die without a boat!
Climate in the BC interior is actually pretty good so I still enjoy the bikini babes and hot temps. House boats, cottages and some go-fasts on this lake. Be there this long weekend...
Okanagan lake is really good too, you should come up this way sometime.

I can get frustrated at times with the weather around here but at the end of the day I love being out on the water! Its a true addiction!!!

I purchased my boat in FL over ten years ago and shipped it to WA. I've averaged about 100 hrs per year by adding the following:
Wipers
Red Dot heater w/defrosters
Full camper canvas
Electric Heat-AC
Gen Set
Propane cockpit heater
(thinking about heated seats)
I use it year round as long as the wind isn't at Defcon 5, or the river is not full of logs. Rain, snow, or subfreezing temps are no problem. I am a boater no matter what type of weather gets thrown my way, because I love boating. Always have since I was a kid living in AK.
Now, having said all that, I am currently sitting on a condo balcony in Marathon FL looking over the ocean fantasizing how to get my boat down here! It's 8:00AM and 80 degrees.
