Default Electric fuel pump return

I am runniing the Blue Holley electric fuel pumps. I have been told to put a return line back to the gas tank so when I am at idle the pump doesnt run for nothing. I have also been told I do not need a return line.. is there any body whos has the correct answer to my question?

Thanks
Silky Steve

only specific regulators require a return line...holley does make one that does, but their normal pumps do not..

No return line is required for the "red", "blue", or "black" pumps. Just a regulator. These are normally used in street cars sir...and they idle alot too.
