Default Timing Advance for GM Vortecs?

Anyone have any experience with Max timing advance for Vortec SB heads?

I have heard 30 degrees is the max.

I think I recall that you set em to 8 degrees and they advance to 32 max via the ignition module.

GM vortecs are different, 32 sounds like too much. The chamber burns faster and there is a hot spot that can cause detination. Someone that knows the facts will certainly chime in.
