I have a 26" bravo on the my DCB Mach 22, reving 5,500 RPM (I think that is 200 over peak RPM??)
The hull is a tunnel with a raised center hull, and the sponsons are stepped.
Will try a 28 Bravo, but was reading a bit about the Maximus on the Mercury site, sounds interesting, but have no experience with them. Or 5 blades.
Currently boat gets on plance nicely, mid throttle speed is not great but does not feel like it cavitating, top speed is 80 MPH.
Drive is stock height (it had a shorty, but previous owner did not like the way the boat felt with it)

Here are a couple of sites that may help...
http://www.mercuryracing.com/propell...calculator.php
if you are unsure of you slip try it site...
http://go-fast.com/Prop_Slip_Calculator.htm
you may be able to find a company that will sell you a prop after you get to try them out and see which one works best, there a a couple of places like this in florida however I have never used them.

I would try a stock 28p Bravo 1 or a 20p Lab finish. If you feel the 26 is on the limiter a 28 will take about 300 RPM. But, you say there is really no slip, I would go LAB finish and pull the 30p. Generally, a lab finish is equal to 1 even pitch difference up, if the slip is in your favor.
Feel free to give us a call and we can get you all worked out!

I'll try the 28 this weekend and post the results. And if I can find a 30 Lab I can try will give that a shot as well.
What are you thoughts on the relativly new Maximus 5 blade??

I tried the 28
I tried the 28 this weekend.
Ran faster, much faster mid range. 56 MPH ish at around 3,500 RPM (about 7 MPH more than the 26)
Topped out at 85 MPH (increase of 4 MPH)
Revving @ 5,500 RPM
Takes a while to get there, from 70-85.
used the calculator, shows a prop slip of 13%
Will try to find a 30 to try now.
