Which prop?
I just bought a 1994 Baja 236 with a 454 310hp engine in it and it runs great but want a little more mph. It runs approx 54-55mph now with a 21p mirage .Which prop would get me a little closer to 60mph?

You need to prop it for the RPMs that the motor is rated at. I'm not sure but I think the 310hp was rated at 4600rpm, so you don't want to go higher than that. Maybe someone on here will know for sure. Your boat sounds like it is right where it should be with that setup. If you are at 4500rpm your slip number is 8% which is good, and 60 would be the theoretical speed.

Welcome to the site! You are set up correctly and you are runnning the right prop at the correct speed, thats all you will get out of it stock. I have the same boat you do, I have owned it since 1998. I started with the same engine you have, now mine runs 74 on the perfect day. Leave it stock and have fun boating !!!

+1 what Jeffsway said. The 300hp, not 310 (later engine) and 54-55 is not wrong. You could lab your prop. What rpms are you spinning at? The engine is rated for 4200-4600 rpm's.

The engine is actually rated at 330HP at the crank but about 300 at the prop. This is assuming you have a stock engine. The later engines were rated at 310HP at the prop not sure if they ever posted a crank HP.
