Quick question......Why do people have a problem with sending all the oil to the filter?? I plug mine and don't even think of using a bypass. If my filter plugs up with debris I have more problems than a clogged filter.
My friend bought a boat with a new ZZ502 that was supposedly "Marinized". The horses A$$ builder left the 11lb spring in. Engine was junk in months. Rebuilt it plugged everything and ran the oil through the filter and cooler and never had a problem.

Yea I like taking picks
ya got to figure on the 500efi's "blue merc racing motors" thats the way they came, for instance Chip at Hustler told me in around 2000 said they had 150 race hours on a 388 Hustler with 500efis with no problems,
Also who runs there oil long enough for it to bypass? they deserve for the shet to come apart
