Need test props Northern IL. 21&19 Mirage,Lazer and 19 Rev4
If anyone in the Northern IL area has any of these props I could borrow and try I would appreciate it. The problem is that they need to be the new style through hub exhaust style. I have an OMC drive and just ordered the adapter so I can use the newer style hub Merc prop.

Chris,
Have you used the Q4 Hydromotive? I have a 24 on mine at the moment and really like the prop with this hull though it's a little much. I bought a 22 I'm going to try when the boat goes in the water, but would really like a 20.

Everyone says bow lift, bow lift, bow lift. We got a little hook so I was shying from the four blades but the Rev4 might be the ticket for my 16-20% slip
If I can get this thing to hook up itll be right about where I thought it should be. The props I have now are a 19 OMC Viper (lots of slip...came with boat) and a 21 Michigan Wheel Rapture (A little less slip but better and better speed, got it free)
PS, the Bennet Tab thing did nothing. Still cant get no positive trim

Chris,
Sorry, I don't have any of the props you are asking for but I do have some info on the Rev 4.
I tried the Bravo1, Rev 4 and Mirage props on our boat and the Rev4 had the most bow lift of all 3. It held very good in the turns and coming out of the hole. The Intimidator prop does not have much bow lift, it works best on boats that don't need much lift there.

Chris,
I know everyone says bow lift but I found that with the placement of the hook the last thing that I wanted was more bow lift (keep in mind I too have a Liberator where as the others don't). When I switched from the 23 Mirage Plus to the 24 Q4, even though I went up a size and added a blade my speed dropped ever so slightly and lost about 400 rpm. My feeling is that with the smaller Q4 I should actually get better speed than I was getting with the Mirage. The hull to me felt as though it ran cleaner, with allot less drag in the rear. Getting on a plane was far better also. If I were around I'd let you try one of mine, but give them a try if you get the chance.

Chris,
One more idea for you. Chicago Propeller (used be on Rand Rd, North of LakeCook Rd) in Palatine had a demo program that allowed you to test props. They are no longer at that location but you probably can get a phone number and call.

Chris-
Don't discount the Laser I or Laser II props- after a lot of foolin' around with props on the Lib211 I had, I found this prop to work very well ( cavitation holes plugged in hub).

Ok then, lets add Lazers and Hydromotive Quad fours to the list.
I spoke with Chicago prop. They said they would call me back the next day...that was a week ago. They also want $25 a prop to test. That applies to the cost of you buy from them, but with the used market being plentiful, and my budget being disgraceful, I'm pinchin pennies where possible.
