If it is the factory merc style they pretty simple to do. I just did mine and the parts are kinda pricy from merc but I think I saw on here somewhere about getting seals and bushings from another supplier.
As far as the repair goes I drained my manifold and riser before I took the riser and diverter off, once you have the diverter on the bench make note of its assembled state. Then remove internal flapper and the rod. The seals and bushings are probably pretty stuck so get a good seal puller to assist you. Once that stuff is out clean it up good, reassemble and reinstall in boat

I just bought the parts to replace the bushings/seals and one busted butterfly in my Imco Sound Advantage.
What's the easiest way to get the diverters off the engine? Marine exhaust hose is sooooooooo stiff and a bear to work with.
