That boat is not running as fast as it should be. I have 2 freinds that have/had 33AVS's with 502mpi's and they both will run 80mph. With 500hp's it should run 85-88mph.
Factory stock? I have owned both set-ups and in each case those speeds appear to be a little high. About 3 mph. Not saying that they cant possibly see those speeds OCCASIONALLY, but not at will.

Actually, in 1985 the 32 Hustler ran 106mph with a pair of 630HP engines. That was amazing considering it was 1985!!!! Granted it had surface drives, but none the less

I doubt a 33avs stepped bottom scarab would run that fast with twin 630HP. I have buddies with 32 sunsation (stepped) and 35 Fountain, single step, that dont get no where near those speeds with similar power.

My non stepped 38 Fountain has run 84mph with twin 625's, thru ssm drives and transmissions. Thats actually pretty friggin good for a non stepped version considering the hardware.

Not trying to say the newer stepped hull boats aren't amazing. They are. But we were comparing a 38 non stepped scarab to a 38 AVS stepped scarab. With equal power, the avs will not be 20-25mph faster than a non stepped version.

There was a straight bottom 38 scarab that outerlimits was selling a little while back. Had ssm v's and 800 or 850HP side by sides. Ran over 100 with a full cabin. They aren't that much of a dog. My buddies 1990 38 top gun with similar power wont break 90.

Good water conditions with light loads on the 33's.

The 38 AVS owned by a freind has freshened stock 500 Bulldogs.
