Default High oil Temps

Hey guys,

Im def no gear head so please try and make this a bit easy for me

I have a fountain with twin 502's. While driving today i noticed both engines were running 275+ oil temps. Both pumps have had there impellers changed. One was eaten and chewed while the other I just decided to replace anyways.

Now, why am i experiencing such high temps? Could the thermostat be misleading? The water temps range between 130 -170

If i drive it could i damage the engine?

Thanks guys

I would say the one with the chewed up impeller has some crap in the oil cooler but the other? Try removing hoses and doing a back flush with garden house. I put a stocking over end of hose to catch all the stuff and find out whats going on. Also some times to much water is bad if its flowing to fast
