Default CFM rating for Merc HP500 Carbs ?

Were they 750, 800 or 850 ?

I have a shot for a pair to go on my Comp Roller Cam Vortec 355's. I have run 750's on similar engines in the past with good results. I am dubious about 800 CFM or 850 CFM. Just checking to see who knows for sure what OEM CFM was.

Thanks,

John

x2. The strange ratings are on the HP series, for example the HP 950 flows 850 cfm.

Like was said, they are 800cfm, which IMO are way too big for NA 355's.

With mechanical secondaries i hope . In my experience a sbc does not move enough cfm at our marine r.p.m.'s to pull vac secondaries open in a 750 .
