I would try CP Performance, and some of the other catalog guys. I've seen the gaffirig antennas for $200.00. Good luck.

Buy a GPS with a data output port and wire it to your speedo. I have my handheld Garmin connected that way, works great and if I need to take the handheld on another boat it just unplugs.

I looked at the Garmin web site and they have a power/data cable for your unit. If your unit a 4 position plug on it that the power/data cable plugs into, you can most likely use your GPSMAP 76. You can buy the cable on the Garmin site for $28. You hook up + and - and the data lead to your speedo data lead.

I would call Gafrig and see if they have a list of compatible GPSs units. Mine is a 12CX.

I called Gafrig...No help at all.I asked for an instrution sheet or manual was told they have no such thing....They sell to boat builders and they know how to wire them!? I asked dont you sell to general public? She says yes but our tech people call them and tell them how.Yea right

You have been a BIG help man! I will try this.

Do you have the power/data cable with 4 wires? The power cable with 2 wires will not work. Forgot to mention, mine doesn't require batteries while in the cradle with the power/data cable connected.

If you want the wiring info during the weekend, I can pack of the laptop and email it to you Friday night.

birdog,

here is how my garmin 12CX gps is wired to my gafrig analog gps speedo.

the brown wire from the gps data/power cable is connected to the center wire on the smaller connector on the back of the speedo. this wire is white.

the white wire on the gps data/power cable is not needed for the speedo.

speedo large connector
red +12V
black ground
violet center position of clear/recall switch
gray recall side of switch
orange clear side of switch

speedo small connector
center white lead <--> brown lead from gps power/data cable

gps setup screen interface page

None/NMEA
NMEA 0183 2.0
4800 Baud

hope this helps, you might not have the small white connector on speedo if they had a gaffrig antenna/receiver connected to it

good luck
