Default procharging with 88 iron heads

some people on here say you cant, some say you can.
Now why cant you?
which heads would you recomend to buy?
these are very local to me there only 45 min away. I know ill have to change the exhaust valves to inconel:

spend the extra money and get the edelbrock instead,,the marine have inconel valves already,,stay away from procomp heads for marine use,,from what i have seen they dont last long.

It's not that you can't use the iron heads, they will detonate sooner than aluminum heads.

we did,088,vortech,502's.they were hp500' efi's.all stock,except we changed the cam to 240,248.made 775hp w/ a .97% corection factor.all tuned on a mefi4b w/ the knock sensors working.going on our 3rd season,boats a 38' formula w/ arnesons.

There is absolutely no reason in the world that you can't put a supercharger on an engine with 088 heads. Will aluminum heads make more power? Sure. But that doesn't mean it can't be done. We do it all the time. You just have to keep the boost in check and not get crazy.

are those heads worth the 1400 bucks plus the inconel valves ill have to buy? or should i just rebuild my 88 heads? thanks in advance

flying tomato, a member on here had a set of the heads in ? with in 3 months the coolent passage on the head surface eroaded away and costed him a engine..

they are fine...a bunch of procharged 088's being run right now..mine included..can you make more power with some others...sure
