Thats no fun! That one should be fine or there's always the ubiquitous perko switch. I've had them on both my boats and they work great. Just remember to NEVER switch it to off while the motor(s) are running or you may damage your alternator. Hope to see you out on the river this summer.

Get a Perko switch. The switch is the cheap part. The new battery wires will be the pricey thing.

FWIW, I see that one says to switch engine off before turning the switch to off. I really dont think you will go wrong with whatever one you buy.

You're over thinking it. Just buy the first one you posted, no tax and you'll get free shipping from amazon. I generally never touch my battery switch when the motor is on anyways. I have a starter battery and a deep cycle. I use the deep cycle for the stereo floating or lounging around on the sandbars. When its time to go, I switch to the starter. I have an onboard 2 bank charger I picked up at Cabela's to plug in when my boat is docked/not in use. Seems to be a pretty slick system.

Alternator Field Disconnect is cheap insurance as long as you are not running a single wire alternator. If you are, it does not work and is a waste.

For AFD,
You want Guest 2110A
Perko Medium duty, 8503DP, may be more durable than your previous experience??? rarely hear of a fresh water one fail as long as connections are tight.

These are rated for 250A continuous but if you are running a larger stereo and combining batteries you might have to step up to heavy duty. Since you are only on two batteries now, I doubt that is the case.

You can switch to #1, #2 or ALL with standard Perko switches with running engines. Just not to switch to OFF.
