My original posts said that Spray would be bad in a boat BUT I wouldn't mind a few mph without spending alot of cash.
I'm not worried at all about the motor, I would keep it propped the same and just spin it to 6000 or so. My worry would be what would happen if you had to throttle the motor? I guess you could set it up on a micro switch off of the throttle, but I remember if on the cars if you got in and out of it , it usually ended up bad.

dude, Nos is for drag strips. Even if you build your motor right you will pop it. Picture this, your in a poker run and running with the pack and some of them are starting to loose you, well your full out and now you have Nos, what are you going to do hold the button for the next 50 miles? It cool if your just going to use it for speed runs but really do you think you can keep your finger off the button when your out going along. It like a hyperdermic needle Dude. Once your hooked you will use it all the time.

To carry enough squeeze to last 50 miles, you would need to bolt the motors and seats on top of a 40 foot long bottle. That might give you your 20 minutes' worth...

I like the idea of using it for a speed burst, and as was stated earlier, when you lift off the button you won't slow all the way down to where you were before juicing it.

WOT, say 83mph... Juice it to 90, then lift off the button. Chances are you will stay at 85 without the juice on smooth water. That's 2 free mph.

My dads 1988 Baja 196 Sunsport has a 475HP SBC in it and we spray 100 HP NOS plate system. It is a blast for lake boats getting into side by side blasts with other lake racers. The boat does 80 natural and 85 on the gas. We turn a 26 Spinelli 3 blade 6000 natural and 6400 on the squeeze with the rev limiter set at 6800. We run full MSD 6m ignition with a MSD dist and a retard module for when on the NOS. We also run a fuel pressure switch and a WOT micro. The motor is an iron head 11.25 compression solid roller 355. The fuel is 110 leaded race gas. I bottle will last about 60 seconds with the power gains dropping off as the NOS is used up. We only hit the button for 10 seconds or so at top end. In a lake race if that isn't enough to get us ahead of the other guy then he is faster. It is a hell of a surprise for people when a 20' bowrider pulls along side of them and they need to run 85 plus to keep up!!!
