I plan on changing my PS fluid, trim ram fluid, Trim Tab fluid this week. Just plan on sucking the fluid our of the reservoir and adding some more. Running it a few times this summer and do it again. Better then nothing. Been searching what type of fluid to run on here and came across this thread.

Anyone have any more advice?

How often do you change the PS fluid in your car? Based on the low # hours in a boat vs. auto, not sure the answer isn't never....

well since oil does not go bad on its own and is only bad if overheated or contaminated you have to ask two simple questions, is it contaminated? if so, why? did it get overheated? the tabs and drives never work enough to overheat and the steering should have a cooler on it so if it overheated, then why? other than that unless it is 50 years old and you have nothing else to spend money on I dont think I would worry too much about it.

Standard power steering fluid for imco steering. I would think the tabs and trim you could use the same...merc even specs out motor oil for hydraulic fluid. Remember that the thicker the oil the slower the action.
