Default 454 bored and stroked to 508 cu in????

http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/boa/3115243473.html

Looking at craigslist I came acrossed this ad. I am wondering if this is a real possibility....I have never heard of anyone building a "508" and I thought that 496 cu in was as far as you could safely go with a 454 block.

Just curious, i have a friend looking for a boat but I don't know about what this person is claiming.

I know it isn't 592 hp if it is only seeing 70 mph. I had the same boat and it ran 70 with 465 hp.

Hmmm....well what I am asking is what combination (bore & stroke) will take a 454 to 508?

4.30" Bore with a 4.375" stroke.
I have been pondering a 3/8" stroker for while. They don't seem to be as taboo as once before.

Old 454's you could bore .125" over. That bore used with a 1/4" stroker crank (4.25" stroke) would give you 511 inches. I run .100" over for 505 inches. You can get custom pistons made to any size you want. However he says it is the original 454 and being a 1998 it would be a Gen 6 which you can't bore that big.
