Default Holley floats - brass versus nitrophyl

Last season I had one of the plastic floats on my Holley 800 fill up with fuel and flood my engine. I was able to catch a ride back to my garage and pulled a brass float out of one of my old Holley's sitting on a shelf. I am considering replacing both floats on this carb just to be on the safe side. Is one type of float better than the other?

as long as you are not doing a blow thru you can use either, the notched ones are needed for jet extensions in the secondary if used...Rob
