MSD Engine Protector (Soft-touch rev-limiter)
Well I am running the old aluminum Tbolt IV ignition on my SBC. Since the new roller motor is in place I need to install some sort of rev-limiter....The directions are pretty basic except for a reference to hooking up a white wire from the rev-limiter to the OUTPUT wire of the ignition amplifier.....It mentions in the same sentence that for a points system hooking it up to the "trigger-wire" going to the neg. side of the coil. Well my TB IV box has a wire GOING to the neg side of the coil and the positive side. The distributor also has two wires coming from the TBolt IV box. I belive one is white/green and the outher it white/?????. I GUESSED that the instructions must mean the wire(Grey)going from the box to the neg side of the coil.So in effect I disconeted the wire going to the coil from the box and hooked it to the white wire from the MSD rev-limiter. But Im not sure this is right... Are they talking about the tbolt box or the pickup in the distributor with the two wires coming out of it.It's Sunday and of course MSD is closed so I am giving it to you guys...
