Default 260 mercruiser starting issue

Got a 89 mercruiser that's impossible to get running unless I give it full throttel. But still have to crank it over for awhile. I changed rotor cap spark plugs an coil. Still having trouble getting it started but once it fires up it runs fine. I checked the acclrator pump
Seems to working fine on the qjet carb. What can I be over looking.

Spray Gumout down the carb, see if it starts normally. IF it does, it is a fuel issue, if you still have the problem then it is ignition. QJets hate dirt and clog up easy.
