Default 33 oulaw 502 distributor question

I installed a new double thick intake gasket on my port 502 gen VI and stuck the distributor in. It went right in so I didn't question if the position (tooth) was correct. Went out on the lake and strarbord water pump impeller failed
We were just getting on plane at 3100 rpm.
So we putted back to the ramp
and when loading the boat on the trailer
The engine under load missed and would not rev over2200 rpm.

When I ran the engine on the hose at home it would easly run to 5000
Under no load. Did I manage to put the distributor in the wrong tooth?!
Please forgive my spelling. I'm iPhone challenged!

did you check the timing,

What possessed you to put on a Double Thick intake gasket? This is not normal if you have a stock engine.

Why do you check for 5000 rpm on the trailer?

Wow! I hope your race car engine builder friend can help you get it figured out.
Sounds like the timing is way off.

At the end of last summer I developed water in my oil.
Changed the oil and it didn't go away so this spring I took the intake off
And it was corroded thru the black coating and pitted.
My machine shop guy said that would or could make it leak.
He added aluminum and resurfaced it. Still leaks water in oil.
Took off both heads and the were perfect.....
He did resurface both heads. Port side head also was resurfaced
Back in 2007, so it's been resurfaced twice.
Water looks to be comming in from the intake because the valley is full of big perfectly clear water droplets And under the intake Is covered
With hundreds of water droplets!
It was suggested to me to try the double thick 1/8" gaskets
But it it still leaks.
Weird thing, when torguing the intake. I had to tighten the bolts
In order of course, 5 times. To get them to stay at 35 lbs.
They just kept Getting loose. Really odd I think
Engine never over heated or frozen. Lifter valley looks perfect.
If the water was comming from the lifter valley it would wouldnt be clear in the lifter pan. Engine has oil flying all over the place under the pan.
So it's milky
If u have any idea what's going on let me know.
I'm thrilled you responded to my problem
I keep comming back to the intake manifold. Maybe ts just ruined now?! Ugh

Also about the 5000 rpm on the trailer....

It was weird, I never do that tut it rapped up so quickly....... quite odd
Did not compare it to the starboard engine, neiter have done that before.

Normally, if I rev in on the trailer, it goes to 3-3500

I also have to apologize for the horrible typing above it was on my iphone and lord it was difficult!!!

Thanks
