Default out drive paint ?

are there any durable out drive spray paints can resist corrosion and brackish water ?

sorry but no! not enough solids,,need to paint with imron ...if you have bare alunimum then you need to prime with ppg dp90 epoxy primer.

^^^ what he said. A good epoxy or etch primer on the aluminum and Imron. Last I checked PPG is the OEM supplier for Merc, they have a nice system too. Call around to some body shop jobbers. If your looking to touch up the skegs just buy the Merc aerosol can.

I cleaned up the corrosion, primed with a zinc chromate primer, then used the merc rattle can. Holds up fairly well.

go4broke after using the zinc primer , how long did you wait before painting and how many coats of paint did you put on ? did you use sand paper before priming ? and what grit ?
