Default 525 Whipple

Has anybody tried the newer whipple kit on there 525efi using the 555 pcm? Just wondering how they are working out? Will the xr drive hold if you drove it nice to plane and using common since?

Our first customer that we did the testing on, has well over 250 hours on his Conquest deck boat, still the stock XR, still the stock everything but the SC.

My buddy has had one on his Cobra for several years and has not had any problems with anything on it.

Sweet setup but the XR bearly holds up with stock power! You will love the extra power and performance but hate breaking drives. Plan on buying Arneson, scx, scx-4. I run procharged 500efis and wear out the XR gears in my imco sc drives every summer.

That really depends on the boat and the one running the throttle. Our first customer with the later setup has his on a deck boat, runs 97mph, has never hurt the drive and by years end will have 300 hours with the SC. There's certain boats that break them consistently, but there are far more than don't have problems. Most that break them are dual motor boats with very high X-dimensions.

No offense here, but your Baja is part of the problem. Not exactly efficient.

Would like to go with whipple on a 29 v hull single xr drive but have heard a lot of problems with the xr's. Never felt my 525 performs like it should, so trying to decided. Boating on inland lakes, easing into throttle, keeping drive in water maybe it would last. Sure like to have the extra power, but not always working on it either.
