This would be very close to the stock Gen V flat tappet cam. Very slight bit more lift.

Stock cam specs are
224/224 @.050"
510/510 lift
115.5 LSA

My buddy ran a 236/245 114lsa flat tappet for many years in upgraded 454 mags, and stock iron center rise manifolds. No reversion. I wouldn't have believed it, but it worked.

A good hyd roller grind, some roller rockers, will wake the engine up big time. Stock cam is very mild.

Good choice to use a stock replacement and will not have reversion issues.

Two,
The Merc 431-9830 cam is still available through GM dealers as GM part #14096209. GM rates this cam as 220º/220º @.050 .500/.500 LSA 115º, while other sources rate it 224º/224º @.050 .510/.510 LSA 115.5º. Either way it's the same cam. They have a version of this cam ground +5º as part# 10185060. The 14096209 cam has an intake lobe centerline of 114º ATDC and the 10185060 has an ICL of 109º ATDC advancing the ICL 5º. Both part #s are still active @ Scoggin-Dickey.

I just opened up an original 454 mag carb engine that had been sitting for years..... You are welcome to the stock cam if you like.... this was a forged crank motor with dimple rods and 7-16 bolts so I guess it was the High power version... there are some numbers on the end of the cam I can get you if you like... everything looks real good and I am using the crank for a nice buildup soon....
