I have seen much worse under MSD caps. Your reluctor wheel is still in nice shape. Ive seen where the reluctor wheel looks like the nuts holding the magnetic pickup look like. Same for the weights and springs if they are there.
If you do end up replacing those parts, a nice coat of CRC corrosion inhibitor spray works wonders. Leaves a film that dries and coats the parts. Not like wd 40 or anything like that.
I still don't see that being related to you hitting the tab or trim and losing 300-500RPM. Where are the main wires for the msd box hooked to? Heavy red and Heavy Black? How about the trigger wire (thin red)?
When cleaning the grounds, I'd have also cleaned the + cable/s at the starter too. On a bravo saltwater boat, the starter down under the block can see some corrosion.

Without being near the boat, my guess is you have corrosion on some connection in/around dash and/or the tab both button. This corrosion is using up the available amperage, thus causing the GPS to shut down. Poor connections are one of the hardest faults to diagnose, but very easy to repair once found. My suggestion is to dive in to your dash, fuse panel, and ground circuit - which may take you back to the bilge.
I had a similar condition before on another boat - and I could duplicate it by shaking the dash harness as it enters the side of the boat. Poor wiring, routing, and design was the culprit here.
Good luck - and let us know what you find.

It was the coil. Went from a blaster 2 8202 to a high vibe 8222.
Wired GPS direct.
Ended up being 2 separate issues
Boat runs perfect!!!
Thanks for all your input ....!!!
