I have a 280 velocity, i expect running mid 70 too high 70s top speed, i use to cruise most of the time so i dont put the throttle WOT very often. Ido boating on small lake and river. Do i really need a latham or imco direction style?

I would at least install an add on system. Or, you can install a single ram full hydraulic system. Either a dual ram add on or a single ram full hydraulic system will run about the same amount of money. Mayfair probably has the best bang for the buck. IMCO builts an excellent unit as well.Although Latham builds some exceptional parts, they are not cheap.

For what you have and what you want to do, you can't go wrong with a system from Mayfair. Give me a shout if I can help in any way with pricing, advice, etc.
