Default power trim guage

the needle on the power trim guage sometimes takes a few moments before it actually moves. it also has a tendency to bounce around and seems to hang up in one spot. meanwhile the bravo drive moves smoothly up and down. the trim sensors were brand new late last season. could it just be that the guage needs to be replaced?
