The Daytona Sensor's are USCG approved

Your not still running the Merc Distributor are you? If so how did you wire everything. I just called crane to verify and they stated it couldn't be done unless you run a different distributor alltogether?

I am running the Merc distributor with my HI-6M but you do have to phase your rotor differently. Also I believe the only way to run the HI-6 is with locked timing, which is how I run mine.
Page 6 show the rotor phasing.

I've been kicking the same thing around with new builds. I love my HEI dui flame throwers but an impossible fit with blowers. id rather poke needles in my eyes than chase ignition problems. Looking for very simple effective ignitions.

Can't you get the DUI distributor with the external coil? That should save a bunch of room. Not sure if it's enough, but the distributors are only like $215 without the coil. It is for EFI, but I don't know why it would be a problem to to an external coil VERY easy.

Just a thought.

This kit is cool. This what I wanna do.
Expensive but badass. BBC or SBC
Adds a reluctor wheel to crank with custom timing cover and crank trigger.
Then just get a e38 LS ECM and coil packs. No dizzy. Super reliable.

after few years, I still stand on the HEI's can't beat them for realiability, although did have the 1st bad out of the box a while back, now thats out of 8-10 I've used or sold, as far as blower clearance, not going to work, but If you are ok running locked timing think a small cap HEI EST with seperate coil might be worth a look. If you need a advance one there is a marine EST kit available with a built in curve(this is a crusader inboard set up that has about 20 deg of advance built in), I am not sure if DUI does a small cap unit or not but he may..and yes MSD(may soon die) is still junk in my opinion
