Default 1992 Powerquest Engine Upgrade

Hi I have just bought a 1992 Powerquest 230 Conquest and have gone through and replaced and upgraded all the interior that was damaged and build a full stereo upgrade. I have also custom wrapped the entire boat with vinyl. I am now after replacing the 454 for something with a lot more power. I am looking to find out what I can swap in directly or what I can fit with modifications. I was told I can't go any bigger then a 502 or 508 is this true? Also what kind of power can this hull and transom support?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

I don't know the boat, but find a 502 mag efi, drop it in and you should be happy. Very reliable 415 HP engine. A good used one you should be able to find 3-5k depending on hours.

EFI all the way for reliable, ez starting engine.

My 2 cents
