When I had the procharger intercooler I would run with the fast data logger going. At 10 lbs of boost and at least 88 degree lake water the intake temp keep going up the longer I stayed in it. Most I stayed in it was maybe couple of minutes since I would run out of room before I had to back down. I remember seeing it go up to 150 degree temps.

do you think the cooler core was getting heat soaked?

540 gm heads 9.5:1 9lbs 865hp cam change 7lbs 900hp. @ 9lbs it was pulling timing. That was with m3sc intercooled. If I can get the money together for a decent drive ill let you know what a brodix bb2xtra hand ported head 598 will do on about 15lbs. Till then it's gonna be a n/a motor :-(

With the right cam, intake and headers about 1400.

Yeah that's what I built it for but spent all my money on the motor and no sense in destroying an xr. So it's just gonna have to wait.

NO WAY! Those intercoolers are magical! You can run 40psi on 87 octane if you have one!
