No easy way to get 6 MPH without spending a lot of money. Griff's suggestion of focusing on the props makes sense to me - if max WOT RPM is only 4500 RPM that tells me you are slightly over propped. Try to find a pair of slightly smaller props, maybe 2" less pitch, and see what the boat does spinning around 4800 RPM. You will lose a little bit of mid-range cruising speed though.

Personally, if it was my boat I would leave it stock and just enjoy having one that moves under its own power.

Did they ever do anything to that jack ass that ran into your old boat?

No they didn't do anything, as in tickets but his insurance paid out. They wrote me a big check and said have a good day and keep ur old boat. So I went out and bought my Powerquest.

An easy way to reach your MPH goal is with NOS. Jet each kit for 75 h.p. and you will easily hit 70+ with the right prop. I put a NOS on a friend's Mirage 350 Mag (270 hp I believe) single and it picked up 5 mph. You could do this for about a grand and resell the kits when you get your next boat. Food for thought.

I often wondered about doing this with a boat...done it with a lot of cars. How much duration do you get with a standard bottle?

NOS is for drag racing and quick bursts of about 10 seconds.
There is a reason its not used in boats. It is not sustainable and propping the boat will also be an issue.

If you are going to go through the engines anyway, why not stroke them out to 383s?

What I do is buy the biggest props and then keep adding power till I get to the speed I want to go.
