Default How much power can you put to a gen v 502 ho block.

I have a 502 gen v block that originally had a blower on top etc. turns about 6200 . I was wondering how much can this block take .030 over or should I try to save for dart.

The 502's are a great engines and you can get a lot of HP out of them. I Whippled a 502 and had 675 hp. I hammered it hard lasted the 2 years I had it and another couple years with the new owner. Drives are the weak link when you overpower the bravo. I wouldn't be afraid of the 502 at all 30 Over.

.030 over is fine for a gen5 502 block,to go farther you should sonic check the block.a gen 6 is a better block.

I did a pair of Gen V's at 555 ci with 4L Whipples making 1100 hp. They have been going for over 2 years now. I've done quite a few in the 1000 area as well with no trouble.

Thx mike and young that makes me feel better. I just don't want block issues right off the bat.
