92 or 102mm Throttle Body on 521ci stroked 496 Merc with Raylar Cool Cap intake
Has anyone installed a 92 or 102mm TB on a stroked 496 Merc with the Raylar Cool Cap intake manifold? Knowledge responses only please.

Oh jeese Rage here you go again - LOL
What cam do you have? (The HP3?) I have the 85mm Raylar sent me in my 600's with a 206 cam and it might be a little more gnarley than the HP3 but not much. I am sure I am not out running it up to 5800 RPM. When I dynoed it was still making power and pulling hard at 5800 as well.
Call Larry, I dont think you need more unless you use the "new" cam that is above/bigger than the 206.
Report back with your findings so I can waste more money.

You will not be able to funnel enough air through a 102mm unless your forced induction and its on the suction side. FWIW, I run a 90mm and make over 1500hp in a car(Yeah, I know its different but airflow is airflow. I would save your money and buy other things that will help performance in a better way.

Attached is manifold air pressure during back to back dyno runs with current setup including the 892 cfm 78mm ported throttle body and the Raylar intake manifold. I am interested if a 102mm TB would get me another 0.3 psi MAP at 5400 rpm which could equate to ~20HP.

NA. 625 cshp dry exhaust and 601 cshp wet exhaust. The MAP data presented was produced from a wet exhaust dyno run.

Hey Keith, Yes my hiatus is over.....temporarily. I have the HP3 Gen II cam which has 9 more HP than the Gen I when installed with the stock GM 8.1L manifold. It is max lift of .596 to still miss the stock pistons which I however have replaced with deep relief forged Mahle/Raylar's so a bigger cam is also being considered. It seems that the 206 cam is ~0.65 lift. I wonder what the bigger cam lift is at? Was the 85mm and the 206 cam the stock setup with your HO600? You would not happen to have any Rinda Diacom or dyno MAP data from your engine at WOT would you?
I PM'd SD Fever but he has not dynod the 90mm TB as yet and says lots of other changes as well.
PS
When I plug my numbers into here is says I need a bigger TB for my displacement.

When I plug my numbers into here it says that my ported HP3 heads CFM can make more HP if the intake/TB provides more air. http://www.rollingthunderz.com/rfs_f...s_intake.shtml
