Default water in intake manifold

why would the be water in my intake manifold only in port motor big block 454 i removed carb and there was water sitting in manifold # 2 n #8 plugs were wet changed riser gasket and tried again same thing pulled intake and water in oil did notice one pushrod was floating around came off lifter dont know if valve is stuck or not have not removed heads dont really want to any suggestions last time out boat ran good for three hours at home during flush everything good a week later it started and was missing

You could have corrosion in your intake manifold, letting cooling water in runners?

its aluminum and it looks really clean

The valve problem could be the source of your 'water' problem.

Pushrods do not just come off of lifters.

Time to dig in and see what caused that.
