Default Drive oil reservoir swap

My 1990 fountain twin has 1 round drive oil reservoir and 1 square reservoir. The old (no longer avail) round reservoir is leaking and I need to replace it. I've found a few different Merc part numbers and it's not clear if the mounting bracket and hardware are included in the "kit". Any one made this swap and have the details/part #'s?

Thx!

I had the same issue as you do and I got mine here... http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-MerCruis...197ec2&vxp=mtr

Alpha and Bravo use the same reservoir, but you might have to turn the nipple in another direction to connect to your hose. It will turn without breaking to 180* from what it is.

Not really, but being they are no longer made it must be pretty old...but it doesn't leak. We bought it used to have as a spare but never used it. Guaranteed to not leak... when it delivers.

I appreciate the offer, but I think I'll go with a new square one to match the other square one.

I checked out the link (part# 806193a51 ).
I also found another one on E-Bay ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercruiser-M...5cc86a&vxp=mtr )
that is a bit cheaper (part# 806193A48). Any idea what the differences are?

The A51 is called a DRIVE LUBE MONITOR.
The A48 is called a LUBE BOTTLE KIT.

no difference except slightly cheaper than the one I posted for you. This one will also work for a Bravo even tho it says Alpha. Dont worry about it.

I had the same problem. One of my round bottles leaked so I ordered two new ones and brackets to hang them.
Then I took the old round ones apart and found an O-ring that seals the bottom. The plastic bottle had no cracks.
I bet if I clean and replace the O-ring the bottle would not leak. I also have two round bottles for sale.I
