Noticed a hairline crack in one blade---crack is so fine I almost missed it . about one inch long half way up the blade from the base. Does anyone know if stainless can be welded safely so the prop can be used again------ Do not trust the local prop repair place to fix it properly thanks.

There is more to the crack than you can see with the naked eye. Can it be welded? sure, personally, if its cracking its faitgued. for the price of welding and the risk of a knife blade being thrown at a few thousand rpm, I wouldnt use it longer than it takes for the new prop to show up.

It can be welded and I have had a bravo prop welded and has never cracked again. I check my props every trip out and think everybody should. The weld will not crack...it will most likely crack next to the weld. If it is a labbed prop they are more prone to cracking than stockers.

I had my Bravo 1s labbed and they cracked a few times on me,,,,, welded .... polished,,,,, lasted for years,,,, but keep a good eye on them,,,, if they cracked once,,,,they will do it again

that is why i dont like labbed props,they thin the blades and that weakens them but i agree with the above,keep an eye on them.

Ive never fixed a cracked prop but ive fixed alot of other cracked items. I drill a hole at each end of the crack to relieve it and then fill and weld with the appropriate media. Ussually if it cracks again its in another spot.
