i hear you loud and clear I will talk with my nephew and figure this all out the last thing he needs is that i live in ct lower fairfield can you point me in the direction of someone that you know that is good at this

One question the oil bypass valve you said 11lb what should be in there or should it be removed

oil cooler is on the right side looking at the motor the sea water inlet is on that side and feeds the cooler first before the water is drawn into the motor by the magnflow pump off that will not self prime another issue i need to look at. oil filter screws onto the block

Ok so i started to read more and man this sucks, so there is a special bypass valve for a motor with a oil cooler also we are only running one oil filter a fram ph30 should we have two a is there a better setup for this

If the oil is diluted with fuel, killed the bearings in a instant...

Do a search on Fram filters and you will see they are a huge no-no. Lots of issues when using them. I personally only use Wix/NAPA Gold filters on my motors.

is this closed cooling? dark brown oil is a sign of antifreeze contamination.

Would going to Norwood, MA 02062 be too far ? Those guys build/rebuild standard and performance marine engines like this all day / everyday.

no its a open system cooled by seawater, i ran the oil through a paint screen looking for metal oil didn't feel gritty either, the oil that came out was the brake in oil that had about 2hrs on it and sat in the motor all winter

mechanical fuel pump on motor??
bad pump may send fuel into crank case....
