Not to side track this thread but offer information, I run that spacer and wide band setup continuously and have been doing so for 3 years (year round boating).

Kidnova did for 3yrs. His exhaust had 6" riser blocks, therefore rate of fall was pretty good.

That's one good experience this way...anyway.

Just relaying info...not that I would run stock exhaust on one myself.

Stainless marine exhaust with standard risers and zz502cam led to reversion and a bunch of broken connecting rods early this summer. Long risers and there is no problem.

Scott - riser blocks were 3 inch if I remember right....maybe 4 in. but def not 6. And yep, other than the risers stock Merc exhaust and with Imco Sound Advantage to boot, so as not to bother others in the marina and such when launching/retrieving. Kept the idle about 750, and had no water sucking issues.

Has the cam been verified to actually be the ZZ502 cam? If all is right with that 502, with the ZZ cam I'd think the engine should spin a 23 in. prop close to 59-6K. My ZZ502 spun a labbed 25 to 55-56K pretty easily with a decent chop. If it were me think I'd have a compression and leak down done, and check valve springs, along with fuel delivery. What intake is on the engine? And what ignition system?

So I put the mech pump back on and got a strong continuous 8psi in to that baby. It even idled completely different and I had to reset the floats and other adjustments. No dip on psi when I blipped the throttle so I'm pretty upbeat that this was the issue.

The electric pump was mounted 14" above the floor, so it had even a much further reach down to the tank pick up. From what I now understand electric fuel pumps are not fond of being above the pick up level at all, much less nearly 2 feet.

So talk to me about exhaust, and what I need. This is what I have now.
