Look into Stainless Marine, they are the best bang for the buck out there.

I see that Stainless Marine offers a 3" rise and a 6" rise option. My thoughts are to go with the 6" rise if they fit under the hatch, yes?

The higher the rise, with stock outlet location, = greater fall. Yes, better way to do it. The later HP500's had a very big rise + fall for a reason. The earlier low rise one's didn't work out so well for some people.

Got it. I appreciate the heads up on the exhaust. That would really really suck. It's amazing how much you have to spend to save money! Haha.

This is the outcome of using that exact cam with exhaust with short risers......

Also, the length of the pipe before water and exhaust is important, not just the height of the riser. You would be fine with the standard riser height, no need for added height (not saying that it's a bad idea, just not 100% needed) as long as you have risers that extend to or very close to the transom before mixing water with exhaust gases. This would prevent the engine from being able to suck the water back as well.

Maybe look for a set of used (good) KE's. Plenty of rise, and good choice if you decide to up the power in the future. LOUD as hell but best bang for the buck.

When I am saying short risers I am not referring to the height. I am talking about length of the pipes.

Are these a viable solution?
