Gotcha. Sounds torquey. Bet she'll pull like crazy. With that much compression use a little caution when you get it in the boat. Run it and pull some plugs especially 5,6,7 to make sure it's not detonating. Just my .02

Thanks it never showed signs of detonating before. The builder set the timing at 33 degrees and told me to check it in the boat. We did not use my ignition box on the dyno.
Can you explain more about why 5, 6, 7
Thanks

Those are the cylinders that detonate the most. 5,7 fire next to each other.

I would think with darn near 11:1 compression 600ci, with the right cam, 750+ should have been easy.

Should be 800. A 2.3 intake valve along with .575 valve lift is choking the motor.

on some of the dyno's you guys run on,it probably is,,for others w/ more accurate ones, not so.I just did a 600 w/ 357 afrs and got to 740hp,of course I kept the lift .675" so the valve and springs weren't getting changed every other year.and the engine idles at 800rpm.

6 loves to run hot for some reason and 5,7 if its not a swap cam tends to have those cylinders run lean.thats why you stagger the jets or in efi, port injection add just a touch of fuel.
