We really enjoy our 89 Scarab 31 Excel, very stable in rough water! New transom last winter and engine refresh and now runs low 70s. I figure about 9500lbs, boat and trailer, gauges and dash update are next. You won't be disappointed should you find the right Scarab.

What power and props are you running 31.

I just picked up a 31 Scarab I really like it, funny it also has a new transom. swear they used no sealant at all.

I was thinking about pulling off the efi and blowers off my boat and selling it. It's a Kevlar boat and would probably for in your budget. A lot of new parts, fresh motors/drives. New transom/ stringers by glass dave. Aluminum trailer.

Second that! Absolutely no sealant at any of the edges. I applied a layer of glass then Gel coat to the edges where the drive and exhaust cut-outs are at. Did the best I could to get resin and 3M 5200 into all of the pass-thru bolt holes.

I am watching this thread because I am looking for my first go fast boat and there is a lot of info here.
