Ultra III
THIS BOAT was made in June 1990 and I believe was hull # 50.
Centerline length 31 ft
Beam = 8 ft 4 inches
weight = was with no engines 3788 lbs
cabin headroom 4.7
cockpit length 7.10
cockpit width 6.4
cockpit depth 3.10
draft 2.3 somewhat shallow
fuel cap = 105 gallons
engines options at that time were 5.7 L or 7.4 L
fresh water cap 32 gallons
VDO gauges were standard and so was Porta Potti
Century and Glasstream was owned by A. L. Kirkland Jr.
Post # 6 has more info.
Wonder if I know about the boat than the owner.

Wow that's cool. BUP you have a lot of good information, thanks for sharing it. This boat deff is 31 fit long. What about the step? Did all the ultra III,s come with the step?

Bow Winds in Michigan and Century shared some of the molds really do not know the full story here.
Yes the step was there for Century. The Ultra III boat was not that fast by no means but did well in straight line in the water. I do know the boats of Century and have driven the Ultra's 1 and II and a III way back in the day.
the hull can be improved on and that why I was asking if no sale then I think the guy I know would splash one and improve upon. .

I seen that ad said top speed 58 miles per hour. Kinda disappointing. Like I said the boats at my friends house about 20 miles away so I will definitely let you know something about that for your buddy BUP.

A person I knew very well way back then was a pretty big Glasstream dealer 1980's and 1990's. I was just getting into the boat business end of 1990 and started out with used boats plus service. Anyways back in 1990 or 1991 he looked at the Century boat line in which was more upscale line compared to Glasstream to bring into his dealership as well.
I got to drive a lot of the models back then and if I recall the Century Ultra III and it had 7.4 s in it, driving it the speedo said 62 or 65 but it felt more like 55 MAX what I remembered. I do remember this because I thought this boat should be faster than this.
All speedo's back then were really way off hence the word dream - o - meter came about. Also back then we would have police officers who owned boats / friends radar us sometimes on land. The boat speedo's were always way higher than the radar gun.
Back in those days having a step did not mean too much because it was more of a trial / error thing. The Century Ultra III boat drove more like a Deep Vee with no aeration. No BS it was very slow to be honest with you but stable. Just saying.

Well I ended up getting the boat. Got it for super cheap waited a year and last week they finally accepted my offer. The stringers are rotten. I can part it out if I have to but I think we're gonna restore it. I may make a thread in the restoration section.

I think it's a cool boat! Restore it! You'll never see another like yours!
