I dont think aluminum will be a problem if you are not in salt. As far as dry joint goes, the merc dry joint setup does not have the u hose that goes from the manifold to riser. In my opinion its the best manifold setup merc has made other than the 496 manifolds. I got mine from ebasicpower.com

There are a couple different versions depending on the angle of your riser. Some even need riser spacers to lift the height of the elbow.

Lots of weight savings with that combo ,suggest using the silver conductive permatex anti sieze on the riser bolts going into the manifolds. Long runner manis and some careful idle water dump control and now your a cam swap away from a noticable power bump while keeping it reliable
