If I was anywhere near Texas, and needed work, BUP is who I would be dragging my boat to; hands down.

Thanks Sydwayz! I appreciate the recommendation. There are not a lot of folks around for HP Boats it seems, can't finance them, can't insure them, can't fix them..

The shop up in Pottsboro always has some serious hardware on the yard but the word on the dock is always VERY opinionated. About 3 to 1 thumbs down. There are reputable shops around Conroe. If no one chimes in ill touch base with friends down there. In the mean time call this guy in Kemah, Gulf Coast boat repair. David Whelan 832.643.2481 He was recommend by a friend in the loop. Good luck.

put a header on the email so I know to open it, even if your plan is to stay close to home for services.

Two bbc will not fit into this engine hatch. That's why they came stock with a 502 or two small blocks.. Good luck...

Yeap, as said in above post, twin sb or single bb. Lot's of the powerboaters at Conroe use Gulf Coast down in Kemah.

Agree completely with taking it to BUP if he is even remotely close to you. And I rarely recommend another shop. lol There are so many that do chit work that I certainly won't recommend them. I would feel completely responsible if a guy got hosed based on my recommendation. That's not an issue with BUP. He's one of the good guys. I've seen him go WAY out of his way to help a guy that never did and probably never would spend a penny with him. That's means a lot, especially in this industry.

am with Eddie Young on this.Either that or a brand new long block... GM makes them http://gmpowertrain.com/pdfpage.aspx#M_57LV8

Other suppliers are out there.

I have seen to many people throw $ away on vendors who give you crap....

SInce this boat has apparently had multiple engine blow ups, I'd see if there is a tuning/riging/injector/etc issue causing them.

Seen this a couple too many times. Schit get's expensive fast when changing motors a few times.
