Has anybody locked out a DUI distributor and what were the results?

yes, removed the springs/weights, used mechanics wire to lock the shaft together where springs were, works fine, I like the higher timing at idle to improve idle quality with certain cams

I had my MSD's locked out, it helped the idle but also tore up a starter.... I just returned them back to spring setup..... still docks fine... just gotta get idle where you want it...
