Your welcome... And by the way those 500efi motors are a great motor, I would take them over the 525efi any day of the week.

Even if you run valve cover breathers, you'll be burning the crankcase fumes since it has a PCV valve. If you eliminate the PCV system, it might upset idle depending on how the EFI is setup.

It will have no efect on Idle. Also more of a bad thing only make things worse.

Maybe not, but I've seen it happen on other speed-density EFIs when the PCV got clogged.

Your talking PVC, and I agree to that. But we are talking about the vale cover breathers, whereas, you would not be pluging them at all. You would just be letting them breath into a barff tank or just out of a breather. Not directed to the flame arrestor to be re-burnded, and reduce performance; Also raising the chance of detonation.

I appreciate all the info, but I'm still a little confused: You got blow-by gasses creating positive pressure in the crankcase which is plumbed through the PCV valve to the intake plenum which has negative pressure/ vacuum. So if the fumes are being sucked into the intake plenum, what's the purpose of the breathers?

Let fresh air in and balance the crankcase pressure with atmosphere

OK, thanks. That's kinda what I was thinking. So they shouldn't really vent many crankcase fumes unless you've got a ring problem with so much blow-by the PCV can't keep up.
